QBCheck Assessment
Now Offering the First FDA Approved ADHD Assessment Tool
(limited to patients in Maryland and Massachusetts at this time)
At New Neese on Life, informed and neurodiversity affirming care is CENTRAL to our mission. Therefore, we are thrilled to offer the first FDA Approved ADHD assessment, QBCheck powered by QBTech!
So, what is QBCheck anyway?
QbTest Telehealth is an FDA-cleared test measuring all three core symptom domains; hyperactivity,
impulsivity, and inattention. It is used when evaluating ADHD symptoms and measuring response
to ADHD treatment.
Both the in-clinic (QbTest) and remote version (QbCheck) involve a 15 or 20-minute computer-based
task that measures your (or your child’s) ability to maintain attention and impulse control.
Meanwhile, an infrared camera tracks movements, and therefore activity, during the test. The
results are based on a comparison of your (or your child’s) performance with data from other
people of the same sex and age.
How Do You Prepare for the Test?
You can complete the test on your own PC or Mac. However, it must meet the minimum specification requirements for the test to run smoothly and efficiently so as not to effect the results. Ensure your system is ready for the QBTest or QBCheck with the following: Operating system of Windows 10 or newer, or macOS X 10.13 (High Sierra) or newer; Intel Core i3 processor or higher; at least 4 GB of RAM; and an updated graphics card. A minimum display resolution of 1024×768, a webcam with 720p resolution, and a stable broadband internet connection are required. Use the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. Make sure your browser allows pop-ups, and you have working speakers or headphones and a microphone if needed.
In addition to your computer or laptop being compatible with testing, so must your environment. This test uses your webcam to monitor subtle movements and your response to stimuli. To ensure you get the most accurate results as possible, you need to make sure that the area you choose to take the test in meets these requirements:
- You are able to take the test in a distraction free and quiet space with no visual or auditory stimuli other than the test
- Seated in a chair without wheels or arm rests
- Try to ensure adequate sleep the night before the test.
- Avoid consuming excessive amounts of caffeine the day of the test.
- If you are to be tested while on ADHD medication, please ensure that you take the medication as
directed. Our office will schedule the test a specific number of hours after the medication is
taken, depending on the type of medication. - For a child, explain that they will be taking a test on a computer which is designed to be
boring.
